La route chante : A Tribute To Lhasa de Sela

Lhasa de Sela found her identity in the depths of her heart, in the rhythm of her steps and in her inner musical world.

Of the many places she lived,it was in Montreal that Lhasa finally discovered a sense of rootedness, in this city she came to treasure as fertile ground from which so much of her music was created.

It's in this theatre where she had always dreamed of singing, that a number of her close friends and companions on her musical journey invite the public of Montreal to attend this singular event. Musical guests include Secret City's Patrick Watson, Plants and Animals, The Barr Brothers and many more.

This event at the Rialto is meant to bring together the musical community Lhasa built for herself, to pay tribute to a beautiful singer, a beautiful person, and the lives she touched.

Lhasa said that a song is alive because someone has dreamed so urgently to create it. May her music continue to inhabit our lives and dreams.
